Product FAQs
6 answers
Is the NE237030 compatible with Stab-Lok residential load centers?
No. The NE237030 is a commercial-grade bolt-on molded case circuit breaker designed exclusively for legacy Federal Pacific NE panelboards. It will not fit in residential Stab-Lok enclosures.
Does this breaker require aftermarket adapters to fit into an FPE NE panelboard?
No. The NE237030 is an exact replacement component built to the original NE-7 frame specifications, ensuring a direct bolt-on fit into existing Federal Pacific NE panelboards without modification kits.
What does the LI trip function code indicate on the NE237030?
The LI designation means the breaker is equipped with a thermal-magnetic trip unit providing Long-Time (L) overload protection and Instantaneous (I) short-circuit protection. Both the thermal and magnetic trip points are fixed and non-adjustable.
Are Federal Pacific NE237030 breakers still manufactured by the original company?
Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) is no longer in business. Replacement NE237030 breakers are sourced from existing legacy inventory or specialized aftermarket manufacturers to maintain existing NE panelboards.
Can the NE237030 be used in reverse-feed wiring configurations?
Yes. This breaker features a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit that is suitable for reverse-feed applications, allowing for versatile wiring in commercial distribution systems.
What safety standards apply to the NE-7 frame breakers?
These breakers were built to meet UL 489, NEMA AB-1, and CSA C22.2 No. 5.1 standards for molded case circuit breakers. Always verify that the 18kA available fault current rating meets the requirements of your specific installation point before energizing.
