This bolt-on breaker is designed for use in GE A-Series panelboards and ABB ReliaGear RQ lighting panelboards. It requires a bolt-on chassis and will not fit in standard residential load centers that use plug-on breakers.
Are GE and ABB THHQB2180 breakers the same?
Yes. ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions, so breakers previously branded as General Electric are now manufactured by ABB. They share the same THHQB catalog numbers, physical dimensions, and UL listings, making them fully interchangeable in existing GE panelboards.
Can I use a THHQB2180 to replace a standard THQB2180?
Yes. The THHQB2180 shares the exact same physical dimensions and bolt-on mounting as the THQB2180, but offers a higher interrupting rating of 22kAIC compared to the standard 10kAIC. It is a direct, upgraded replacement where higher fault current protection is required.
Do I need special terminals to connect 1/0 AWG wire to this breaker?
No special terminals are required. The factory-installed box lugs are sized to accept up to 1/0 AWG wire for both copper (6 to 1/0 AWG) and aluminum (4 to 1/0 AWG) conductors.
Is the THHQB2180 suitable for reverse feeding?
Yes, this thermal-magnetic breaker is suitable for reverse feed applications. It does not have dedicated line and load markings, allowing it to be back-fed when used as a main breaker in compatible panelboards.

Expedited Shipments
